The past seven days has finally seen some big moves being made in the transfer market. It is no surprise that Manchester City have yet again been flexing their muscles with the signings of Mario Balotelli from Inter Milan and James Milner from Aston Villa. Both Manchester City and Liverpool have been dominating the headlines over the past couple of weeks but for different reasons. City have spent big yet again, and look to continue to do so right up until the end of the transfer window this month. With just two teams left to battle it out in today’s World Cup Final, all of the other squads have left South Africa and their players have travelled back to their respective homes or taken a well earned holiday. Fans of Everton will be shocked to hear today that their England Under-21 midfielder Dan Gosling has left the club as a free agent, after the player rejected the offer of a new contract. He made 22 senior appearances for the club and scored 4 goals, one of which knocked local rivals Liverpool out of the FA Cup in February 2009.
